January Winter Getaway 2025

Sean and I had so much fun getting away to Florida for a few days.  We met up with some friends who were also visiting Fort Lauderdale. The temps were in the mid 70s and a bit windy but we had sunny weather which we had no complaints about. It was so nice to soak up those rays! 

Some highlights/recommendations from the vacation:

The Wine Garden:  An Italian restaurant and a wonderful wine selection. (They had a happy hour option as well.) I had a white wine flight which was great and my favorites were the Polpette al Sugo (meatball appetizer) and the Carbonara. 

Coconuts:  This was a great seafood restaurant that is by the water. Get the scoobies for sure and I had red snapper!

Wynwood:  An area in Miami which you can experience street art, boutiques and we happened upon a pop up food/craft market called, Smorgasburgmiami  . We all were able to get different foods.  It took about 40 minutes to get there from Fort Lauderdale.

The beach was also beautiful and even though it was a bit on the cooler side. it was so nice to sit on the beach and enjoy the ocean view and go for a quick dip. Sean and I went for runs in the morning along the beach which was also such a treat. Nothing beats a beach/ocean view on a run!
